Zlatibor International Sports Film Festival at the international FICTS event in Treviso
From June 4 to 6, 2026, the fifth edition of the international program “GenerAZIONE2026 – Sport Powered by Youth and Education” was held in Treviso, dedicated to the promotion of sports, youth, education and Olympic values in honor of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The central part of the program was the international meeting “Legacy of the Games: A Heritage of Values”, which was held on June 4 at the headquarters of De’Longhi Group Appliances in Treviso. The meeting brought together representatives of FICTS, international delegates, representatives of sports, cultural and educational institutions, as well as participants of programs dedicated to the Olympic heritage and the values that sport transmits to new generations. During the international meeting, a regular session of the FICTS Assembly was held, in which Olivera Nikitović, director of the Zlatibor International Sports Film Festival and member of the FICTS International Commission, participated as a delegate. On that occasion, Zlatibor was presented as an example of successful integration of sports, culture, tourism and territorial development. Through the International Sports Film Festival and the network of cultural and sports events, Zlatibor is presented as a heritage model capable of creating a recognizable identity and additional attractiveness of the destination.
Opening ceremonies were held as part of the program, as well as the awarding of awards, among which the FICTS Guirlande d’Honneur 2026 and the awards of the GenerAZIONE2026 program, intended for students, teachers and schools that contributed to the promotion of sports, education, culture and the value of Olympism, stood out. The FICTS Guirlande d’Honneur 2026 award, FICTS’s highest award, went to Rossano Galtarosa, winner of four Olympic medals, president of the Italian Rowing Federation and vice-president of the Veneto Regional Olympic Committee. Among the award winners were prominent Olympic medalists Federico Tomazoni, Flora Tabanelli and Federico Pellegrino.
The program, in addition to working meetings and ceremonial ceremonies, also included numerous accompanying contents, including the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026, meetings with representatives of local institutions, cultural tours and the presentation of FICTS international delegates. The participation of representatives of the International Sports Film Festival at this important international event further confirms the position of Zlatibor as an important center of sports film, culture and international meetings.
This year, Zlatibor will also be a gathering place for authors, athletes, filmmakers and fans of sports films through the new edition of the Zlatibor International Sports Film Festival, which will be held from August 20 to 23, 2026.
