The goal of the Festival is the promotion of sports through culture and film as the seventh art, and this is precisely why it was accepted as a member of FICTS (Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs) from Milan (Italy) in 2017. FICTS is an organization founded in 1983, recognized by the International Olympic Committee and chaired by prof. Dr. Franco Askani (member of the Commission for Culture and Heritage of the IOC).
Through the slogan "FICTS is culture through sport", all members are obliged to promote the social and cultural value of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, combining sport and culture, with the aim of spreading a philosophy of living based on the values of tolerance, ethics, respect, self-discipline, friendship, solidarity, peace and fair play.
Every year, the films that are winners at the Zlatibor Festival are shown at the final "Sport movies & TV International FICTS Fest" festival in Milan, which is organized in November.
The festival is of a competitive nature, conceived as a unique combination of art, sport and creators from those two fields, and its goal is to gather filmmakers and distinguished athletes from the country and abroad.
In addition to the film awards for the authors of the films, the organizers of the festival annually award awards for life's work to successful athletes and a special Charter of the Heroine of Sport and Life "Nataša Kovačević", which is awarded to para-athletes for achieved results in para-sports.
