Zlatibor Hosts the 14th International Sports Film Festival
From August 21 to 24, Zlatibor will host the 14th International Sports Film Festival under the slogan “When sport is life, and life becomes a story.” Some of the latest achievements in the field of sports film will be shown in the Cultural Center, while the festival jury, composed of prominent names from the world of journalism and film art, will choose the best among 26 films from Serbia, the region, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
“This festival is a perfect example of how cultural content can improve the tourist offer of a destination. Since the beginning of the year, Zlatibor has hosted around 200 sports teams for basic preparations, and with continuous investment in sports and accommodation infrastructure, we are becoming an increasingly serious competitor to well-known European destinations such as Turkish Antalya,” said the director of the Zlatibor Tourist Organization, Vladimir Živanović.
The director of the festival, Olivera Nikitović, emphasizes that the aim of the event is to connect sport and art, but also to encourage international cooperation. “Our special guests will be the organizers of the sports film festival from Istanbul, which started work last year, which further confirms the international importance of our event,” Nikitović pointed out.
The official opening of the festival is scheduled for August 21 at 6 p.m., when awards for life’s work and outstanding contribution to sports and film will be presented. In addition to the film program, a special segment of the festival will be the promotion of sports on Kraljevo trg, which will further enrich the summer offer of Zlatibor.
By holding the sports film festival, Zlatibor once again confirms its status as a mountain that uniquely combines natural beauty, top sports facilities and a diverse cultural program throughout the year.
